It’s About Treadmills is an independent website about treadmills, walking pads, treadmill features, accessories and maintenance. We publish guides for people choosing, using and maintaining a treadmill or walking pad at home, with a focus on explaining treadmill types and specifications and how to set up, use and maintain a home treadmill safely.
Who we are
It’s About Treadmills launched in its current form in 2026 and is run by a small, independent editorial team. We are an online-only publication. We are not owned by, and do not work on behalf of, any manufacturer, brand or retailer, and no company reviews or approves our guides before they are published.
Websites that used the domain name itsabouttreadmills.com in earlier years were run by other people and are not connected to the current site or its content.
What we cover
Our guides are organized into these sections: Treadmill Types, Treadmill Buying Guides, Treadmill Features, Treadmill Maintenance, Treadmill Accessories and Treadmill Workouts. Each guide explains what matters for a given situation, which trade-offs to expect and where its advice stops.
How we research
Our content is written by the It’s About Treadmills editorial team. We base our guides on treadmill manufacturers’ specifications and owner’s manuals, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and its recall database, and public physical-activity guidance such as the U.S. Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, and we link to the source when a guide states a figure or a safety point.
We are clear about the limits of our work. Unless an article explicitly describes our own use of a product, our guides are research-based and are not hands-on product tests. We do not invent test results, ratings or statistics. Read our Editorial Policy and How We Review for details.
Safety and scope
Use the safety key, keep children and pets away from a running treadmill, unplug it before cleaning or maintenance, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for lubrication and belt adjustment. Check for recalls on your model. Talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise program if you have a health condition.
